We at GenRacer have been working closely with many major brands to bring new and exciting parts to the Genesis Coupe. One of which, whom we've been very happy to be working with is Tomei!

They have developed a full titanium exhaust system for the 2.0T and recently sent us the prototype. The build quality on this piece is absolutely amazing. And thanks to it's titanium composition, weighs less then 10lbs! There's even a titanium test pipe to complete the package.

Greddy Tests their Genesis Intercooler kit!

One area that almost all factory turbocharged vehicles can be improved is, intercooling, especially if you decide to boost up. But even factory intercoolers at stock boost levels begin to easily get heat soaked. (when the core looses its cooling efficiency because it's volume is small and it starts retaining heat faster then it can cool off.) By reducing the engine's inlet temperatures, a denser air charge will enter the engine; this can make more horsepower at the same boost level and even more power at higher boost levels.

For example on the new Hyundai Genesis 2.0T Coupe. We offer our GReddy Intercooler Uprgade. First off, the kit uses a much larger Type-24 LS core which has about 60% more volume. This not only provides a bigger surface area for cooling, but also fights against heat-soak by having so much more capacity.

This can be specifically translated to more reliable cooling, (in warmer weather, and for longer periods of time.) In the case of the Genesis, the intercooler is already a front-mounted unit for good air flow, but the larger size of our LS core increase cooling efficiency from 79.6% to 88.8%. That's over 12 degrees F cooler!

And even though the GReddy Intercooler is so much larger, it has a smaller pressure drop. The smaller factory intercooler is actually pretty efficient 97.5% (or a 0.42psi drop), but due to our unique tube & fin design it is even better with a 99% efficiency (or a 0.14psi drop)

The CMD plugs directly into your OEM wire harness and intercepts signals between various sensors and the ECU. In most cases, the MAF (Mass Airflow), MAP (Manifold Pressure), TP (Throttle Position), Crank, Cam, and each fuel injector are captured and processed by the CMD to enhance each combustion event. Not only can you remap your injector pulse-width +/- 100% based on the various sensor inputs (with direct injector control), but you can also clamp (limit the output to the ECU) and remap (skew the output for larger sensors) the sensor output to suit your needs.

We Dynoed the MXP on the 2.0T!

Wow, that's the response we got from many people when we dynoed this MXP Catback and turbo back setup on the Hyundai Genesis 2.0T. We travelled up to DENT SPORT GARAGE in Boston Mass to use their dynodymanics dyno to see the results of the MXP. We first did a base line run to see what the factory 2.0T motor puts out from the showroom. We did 3 runs back to back and got consecutive results. After letting the exhaust cool for a bit, we installed the MXP CATBACK EXHAUST and strapped this bad boy back on the dyno for a couple pulls. We did a total of 5 pulls with the catback installed and noticed a drastic increase of torque and horsepower curve.

We then proceeded to finish of the install with the MXP o2 Housing, MXP DOWNPIPE, and the MXP Test Pipe. Again, we saw instant gains on these 3 parts. After doing 3 pulls on this turbo back setup, we saw boost come on a lot sooner, increase in torque sooner, and more linear gain in Horsepower Top End. Overall, I am very happy with this exhaust system. Definitely a very good investment for our Genesis. The sound is a lot throatier when in boost and you can actually feel the difference in power when driving.

GenRacer's Genesis Coupe on the Track!

Our time attack team decided to use our 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T for practice sessions at Redline Time Attack Round 6 at Englishtown this past weekend. Our U-RWD 1997 240SX isn't optimally setup to deal with a wet track so the decision was made to send out the Genesis Coupe on practice so our driver can learn the track.

Granted we toasted our brakes and traction was difficult since the track was (extremely) wet. But whatever, all in the name of fun.

Several new exhausts to introduce today into the Genesis Coupe market! Greddy has finally received their first shipping of their Spectrum Elite exhausts for the Gen! Since its an axle back, it'll fit on both the 2.0T and 3.8 V6 models. Agency Power also announced their their cat-back systems are both arriving in about 1 week. Four choices are here since you can have them with the standard stainless tips or titanium "burnt" tips. Also big news for the V6 peeps since they do have both choices available for the 3.8 as well!

So, here at GenRacer HQ, we decided to check out the brand new Greddy Informeter TOUCH on our Genesis Coupe 2.0. This 'lil gadget is even cooler then we expected!

The software matches up perfectly to the Genesis (2.0 and the V6 according to Greddy), and you'll know every detail you ever wanted to know about the happenings of your car underneath the hood.

Now only can it display a plethora of different readouts on its screen (tach, speed, ignition timing, throttle, coolant temp, estimated power, estimated fuel economy, etc.), but can read boost as well on the Genesis Coupe without the extra sensor from Greddy!

We have the M&S Type-A Grill!

Straight from the Korean auto design company, Mechamachine & Style, we have the Type-A front grill in stock!

The grill is a direct fit on KDM front bumpers. It will require the KDM bumper top piece to attach to USDM bumpers. The bottom "lip" of the grill goes over the front bumper and cuts off where it meets the front license plate. It will not be fully covered unless running a Korean or Eurpoean sized front plate.

The grill is made out of high strength fiberglass and arrives unpainted.

It looks like Greddy's taking our advice and going with a quad-tip design on their latest Spectrum Elite exhaust for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Looking real good so far. We can't wait for our first batch of these exhausts to arrive!

Exhaust prototyping continues... Especially in the Genesis Coupe line. Here is a little sneak-peek at another one of our exhaust prototype samples. This time in a quad tip Spectrum Elite style. We have a few more options to look at, but this one looks promising too...
Our end goal is to provide a few different options for both 2.0T and V6 owners.
