★GenRacer Builds World Challenge Touring Car for 2013★
We have been holding back from posting this build until we knew everything was in place and it was a go! For 2013 we will be campaigning a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T for SCCA Pro World Challenge Pirelli World Challenge
Since we have been in business, we have raced professionally with Formula D, to Redline Time Attack, and most recently to NASA Pro Racing. This will be the largest challenge for us and a great goal for us to overcome.
The build will conform to the Touring Car class specifications as well as showcase our fabrication and parts we sell. We have been working with numerous manufactures and their products to get them on our car and allowed for competition. Since this is the first Hyundai Genesis to race in SCCA WC, we needed to get the car homologated for this series. WC has multiple race events across the country that interests us greatly. Two of the events are important to us since WC will be the supporting race for Australian V8 Supercar and American LeMans.
The car will also be used for NASA Performance Touring class in the Northeast. Most of our testing will be done with NASA NE NASA NorthEast Region - Safe, Affordable Way to get on the Race Track.
Additionally, all the parts that will be used on this car can be purchased from us and are the same parts we trust and will test on our car. We invite friends and customers to come out to our events and test session to help support us. We also have intentions of installing a removable passenger seat for possible "ride alongs" for our supporting fans.
This thread will showcase our build and our steps in the process to getting out on the track. So please follow us in this thread as it will be very active in the coming future :)

Tomei Expreme Ti Exhaust Prototype for 2.0T
We at GenRacer have been working closely with many major brands to bring new and exciting parts to the Genesis Coupe. One of which, whom we've been very happy to be working with is Tomei!
They have developed a full titanium exhaust system for the 2.0T and recently sent us the prototype. The build quality on this piece is absolutely amazing. And thanks to it's titanium composition, weighs less then 10lbs! There's even a titanium test pipe to complete the package.

Greddy Tests their Genesis Intercooler kit!

One area that almost all factory turbocharged vehicles can be improved is, intercooling, especially if you decide to boost up. But even factory intercoolers at stock boost levels begin to easily get heat soaked. (when the core looses its cooling efficiency because it's volume is small and it starts retaining heat faster then it can cool off.) By reducing the engine's inlet temperatures, a denser air charge will enter the engine; this can make more horsepower at the same boost level and even more power at higher boost levels.
For example on the new Hyundai Genesis 2.0T Coupe. We offer our GReddy Intercooler Uprgade. First off, the kit uses a much larger Type-24 LS core which has about 60% more volume. This not only provides a bigger surface area for cooling, but also fights against heat-soak by having so much more capacity.

This can be specifically translated to more reliable cooling, (in warmer weather, and for longer periods of time.) In the case of the Genesis, the intercooler is already a front-mounted unit for good air flow, but the larger size of our LS core increase cooling efficiency from 79.6% to 88.8%. That's over 12 degrees F cooler!

And even though the GReddy Intercooler is so much larger, it has a smaller pressure drop. The smaller factory intercooler is actually pretty efficient 97.5% (or a 0.42psi drop), but due to our unique tube & fin design it is even better with a 99% efficiency (or a 0.14psi drop)

The CMD plugs directly into your OEM wire harness and intercepts signals between various sensors and the ECU. In most cases, the MAF (Mass Airflow), MAP (Manifold Pressure), TP (Throttle Position), Crank, Cam, and each fuel injector are captured and processed by the CMD to enhance each combustion event. Not only can you remap your injector pulse-width +/- 100% based on the various sensor inputs (with direct injector control), but you can also clamp (limit the output to the ECU) and remap (skew the output for larger sensors) the sensor output to suit your needs.
